French term

marge de rétrocession

French to English Bus/Financial Finance (general) A form of discount / reputational risk document
"Bque/Client
Vente de Fonds basée sur la ***marge de rétrocession*** reversée par les sociétés de gestion
Risque de réputation par l'utilisation de pratiques commerciales non autorisées.
(orientation de la vente en fonction de la marge dégagée)."

I have heard of this term in a retail (chain-supplier) context before, but never in a finance context.

It's some form of discount or "brown paper envelope" money but is there an exact term? Greasing-the-wheels-of-commerce money?
Proposed translations (English)

Discussion

Howard Sugar Jun 28, 2015:
In banking it is customary to pay retrocessions, which
take the place of remuneration in certain professional
categories.
Retrocession calculations vary greatly, and depend
on general policies of the bank or are negotiated on a
case by case basis. For this reason the system for
calculating retrocessions must be very flexible to allow
all possible forms of negotiation.

retrocession margin

http://www.investopedia.com/terms/r/retrocession.asp includes several definitions of retrocession, and I think the first is the key one.

1. The practice of one reinsurance company essentially insuring another reinsurance company by accepting business that the other company had agreed to underwrite.

I assume that this refers to the margins underlaid in this contract.

disagree Daryo : "Vente de Fonds basée sur la marge de rétrocession reversée par les sociétés de gestion" where is any reinsurance business in this?

Thanks for the input. Not the same type of contract, but the term is correct.
