agree  Setti Mulari: also, source dialect dependantly, may also mean appropriate, calm and almost polite behaviour. When my mom tells me to be "asiallinen", she wants me to behave myself and be nice.

Explanation:
This is an extremely common word in Finnish, and you need an equally common English equivalent in most cases. Business-like, etc. will not normally do, as it will souind 'translated'. Another translation sometimes is 'relevant'.
