English term

you¡¯ll probably give out before it does

English Marketing Textiles / Clothing / Fashion fabric
When you¡¯re active, you need a bit of stretch to keep you comfortable. Reflexx stretches as much as you need. Then bounces right back to where you started. So durable, you¡¯ll probably give out before it does.

you will get tired and give up before it does

I don't think they mean you will die before it gives out, only that you will get tired and give up exercising before it loses its stretch.

neutral Josephine79 : But that would be "give UP" and not "give "OUT"// Precisely give out is break, stop working - but NOT quit, which is give UP.

no, if you say something 'gives out" , that means it broke, or quit, or stopped working.

neutral Charlie Bavington : Where do you get the idea that this is about the consumer of the cloth exercising? It's a stretchy cloth that will remain a stretchy cloth long after you're dead and buried, no?
4 hrs
because it says, 'when you are active..."
neutral Lubosh Hanuska : ...maybe wear yourself out would have suited your translation; "give out" does not make sense, and in marketing it would be lkely as Charlie suggests above - the "lifetime" guarantee of "being stretchy" for the fabric...

agree Johan Venter : Marketing is focused much more on making something sound good/clever, rather than reminding the user of his/her mortality, so this seems plausible to me.

thanks!
agree Refugio : I think the "when you're active" phrase indicates that this is the correct interpretation.

it will last a lifetime

the cloth is so resistant, of such good quality, that it is suggested that the wearer will die befotre it is worn out!

We are talking about a kind of fabric here, not one used specifically for sportswear:

"General End Uses: Performance apparel, uniforms, linings, medical textiles, industrial, upholstery, home furnishings, and military applications."
