This is the easy way using Word Explanation: You can insert any symbol or character in Word if you know the character code. The character code for the minus-plus sign is: 2213. You simply tyoe in the code and press Alt+X and voila! You have the mathematic sign on you document. Hope this helps! -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2002-07-25 08:17:56 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Sorry for the typo! It should read \"you simply type\" -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2002-07-25 08:32:57 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- You type 2213 first, then you pres the ALT-key and the X-key down at the same time. Then the 2213 should change to the minus-plus sign. I just wrote \"voila!\" to say \"hey presto\" or \"there you go\" meaning the result is before you. ;-) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2002-07-25 08:40:52 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- You type 2213 first, then you pres the ALT-key and the X-key down at the same time. late answer Explanation: the -/+ symbol also exists in the MT Extra font which, I believe, installs with MS Office. Look for it. (I can also mail it to you, if you wish). To CD Clark: it depends on the keyboard code you have in Windows. When I follow your directions on my Polish programmers' keyboard, I get the Polish letter ¹ (a,)... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2002-07-25 08:50:09 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Or, most likely, the font installs when you install the equation editor function in MS Word. I always install the equation editor, so I wrote that the font installs with MS Office, but it ain\'t necessarily so... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2002-07-25 08:51:02 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I typed this in and then saw your reply - glad you found it :-))) |
