Öncelikle belirtmeliyim ki, denizcilikle hiç bir ilgim yok, yaygın bir çevirisine vakıf olan varsa cevaplayacaktır. Asıl tebligat / belge muhattabı gemide olmadığı için, gemi personeli, başkasının yerine imza atarak teslim alıyor. Sadece dış zarf olarak. Zaten bakarsanız, "on behalf of" kalıbıyla beraber geçiyor hep bu sorduğunuz kelime öbeği. Siz bağlama göre istediginizi seçersiniz eğer yaygın bir çevirisi yoksa.
Askeriyede genelde dış zarfa bakarak teslim alındı diye not düşülür öyle imza atılır.

Difference Protest

Upon presentation of the B/L, the cargo weight indicated in the Bill of Lading (Shore figures) is to be compared with the ship’s ullage measurement (Ship’s figures). In case of any deviation of B/L weight from the ships figures, a difference protest is to be issued and addressed to the Shipper. The protest is usually signed ‘for receipt only’. If the Shipper is not available on board to receive the protest, the Agent has to be given the protest in exchange for a receipt stating his obligation to hand it over to the Shipper.

Bu dokumanı imzalarken altına (for receipt only) gibi bir meşruhat koymanız hiçbir şey ifade etmez, çünkü bu iki ülke kanunlarına göre geçersiz olup, sorumluluğu tamamen kabul ettiğiniz anlamı taşır.

Sanıyorum en güzel referans bu:

“Cape Bari vakası” her ne ise, o günden sonra kaptanlar, kendilerine yetkili makamlar tarafından imzalaması için dayatılan bütün paperwork-evrak-tutanak her ne ise, sorumluluktan kaçınmak ve olası bir hukuki durumda başının belaya girmemesi için “for receipt only” diyerek yani bir nevi şerh-açıklama düşerek imzalıyorlar. Yukarıda paylaştığım “protest” bağlamı da bununla örtüşüyor. Yani bir “itiraz” söz konusu. Bu durumda “sorumluluk reddederek tebellüğ ettim” ya da sadece “muhalefet şerhiyle imzalıyorum” bence uygun çeviridir.
