A wrestling mat is large and rolled out. It's made of a synthetic leather-like material and it's spongy in the middle to create a cushiony surface for wrestlers to wrestle in. We're not talking about lucha libre, here, we're talking about olympic-style wrestling.

Tatami is for Judo,by the way I come from a country which got over 10 world champions Greek and Freestyle wrestling and that's the way we called in Cuba.

: I'm not arguing that 'tatami' is technically NOT the correct word; ALL i'm saying is it is the PREFERRED term in SPAIN, perhaps not in other Spanish speaking countries. Cheers, and over and out!
