Por qué en este ejemplo se cambia la estructura de la pregunta (sujeto+verbo auxiliar... en lugar de la usual verbo auxiliar+sujeto...)? Es un ejercicio propuesto en una plataforma para aprender inglés. No hay contexto, solo es eso

So, the question "Has Maria already gone to bed" is an actual question, where somebody is asking if Maria has already gone to bed.
On the other hand, the question "Maria has already gone to bed?" is rather a way to express surprise for the fact that Maria is already in bed. It is as if to say: Really? I can't believe that Maria has already gone to bed. So it is not *really* a question and for this reason no subject-verb inversion is required.
