English term or phrase: grant to vacate
Tenants in Enfield could be eligible for money towards buying their own home as part of the Government’s 'grant to vacate' scheme.
Enfield Council is urging people to take advantage of the offer which could enable council tenants to receive grants of £40,000 if they move from a one-bedroom home, £50,000 from a two-bedroom home and £55,000 from a three-bedroom home or larger.
Councillor Ahmet Oykener, cabinet member for housing, said: “I cannot stress enough how important it is to get applications in fast. We have funding up to March 14 and want to be sure that we use it.”

"grant" svakako označava bespovratna novčana sredstva.

U ovom slučaju se dodaljuje za napuštanje socijalnog stana zaštićenim stanarima da kupe svoju nekretninu i oslobode te stanove u javnom vlasništvu da bi ih neko drugi koristio.
The scheme is aimed at people with secure tenancies who can use the grants towards purchasing property costing up to £285,000 anywhere in the country and therefore freeing up good family housing in Enfield for those in need.
