Within the PAS superfamily, the N-terminal segment (N-cap) is poorly conserved and its role is not well understood.

The N- and C-terminal ends of an isolated helix contain four NH donors and four CO acceptors each, respectively due to edge effects (Figure 2 ). It has been shown that hydrogen bond partners for these otherwise unsatisfied first four amide protons and last four carbonyl oxygens are often provided by polar groups that flank the helix termini. Furthermore, these residue positions were found to contain differentiated amino acid preferences. Helix boundary residues (the first and last helical residues) are called Ncap and Ccap at the N- and C-terminus, respectively.

incerc niste deductii - mai mult sau mai putin logice:))
In aceasta lucrare apare: "...at the N terminal end (N-cap)..." de unde inteleg ca "N terminal end" si "N-cap" sunt acelasi lucru.

Dupa logica aceasta, raspunsul ar fi " N terminus" sau "amino-terminus"
Metodele sunt utilizate în biochimie și in biologia celulei. Sinteza are la bază cuplarea grupării carboxil -COOH (carbon terminus) cu gruparea -amino -NH2 (segmentul N terminus).
"... dacă se termină cu gruparea amino, devine amino-terminus (N-terminus).

Am citit si eu acea postare si intr-adevar, intr-un context similar apare end-capped. Dar in restul documentului apare "N-capped" (mai exact de 7 ori). De asta am nevoie de ajutorul vostru :)

Acelasi termen a fost tradus in poloneza. http://www.proz.com/kudoz/english_to_polish/medical:_pharmac... Din discutii reiese ca, de fapt, s-ar putea sa fie vorba de "end-capped".
Daca este vorba de end-capped, atunci ar putea fi "silanizat" :
Datorită volumului mic al grupării trimetilsilil, aceşti adsorbanţi sunt practic total silanizaţi (end-capped).
