冬水月 Explanation: First of all, I confess to be a little confused. A girl from Japan needs her name to mean this? Isn't the girl from Japan is the person that would best be able to translate phrase into Japanese? Are you sure that you are not asking for a translation from Japanese into English I mean, are you requesting an English name which means "water under winter's moon"? Assuming that you do require Japanese then 冬月 tougetsu means winter moon and 水 means water. So, 冬月水 Tougetsusui, (winter moon water) might do but it sounds pretty strange. Alternative conceivable pronunciations included, Fuyutsukisui Fuyutsukimizu toutsukimi It is probably better to use 水月 suigetsu (or occasionally mizutsuki) which means the moon reflected in the surface of water. 冬水月 tousuigestu which sounds pretty strange as it is, but it might be pronounce Toumitsuki (?With a free Tommy attached, I like Tommy? ) Toumigetu (not nice) tomigatsu (not nice) fuyumizutuki (too long) Or at a pinch, if you *forced* people, perhaps you could get people to pronounce it "Tomiki" (using the last syllable of tsuki. Tomiki could almost be a name. Tomika is a popular girls name but pronouncing 月 (tsuki, getsu, gatsu) as "ka" is going a bit too far. |
