lev ha-tmimut ha-shakhor Explanation: לב התמימות השחור -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2004-02-25 21:13:43 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- lev (lamed-bet) = heart (of) ha-tmimut (heh-tav-mem-yod-mem-tav) = the innocence ha-shakhor (heh-shin-khet-vav-resh) = the black ha-shakhor modifies lev, not ha-tmimut, thus it\'s the same as saying \'the black heart of innocence). Hebrew modifiers come after the modified part. However, you can also say ha-lev ha-shakhor shel ha-tmimut: the heart the black of the innocence הלב השחור של התמימות which is less elegant. |
