@ Patrick Yes, I would instinctively have thought of it as an 'aire de manœuvre' — hence why you don't want pedestrians wandering around there!

@ Patrick Nothing to do with camping here! The 'trailer camp' is where the trailers (alone) are left parked in such a way as to take up as little space as possible — as distinct from a general lorry park, where they are parked (temporarily) with their tractor units.

Ça ressemble à un lieu de manœuvre de semi-remorques. Peut-être une aire de stationnement/parc de remorques. Il s'agit d'une entreprise/port ou d'un camping (trailer camp=terrain de caravaning/parc à caravanes) ? La traduction ne sera pas la même.

neutral Tony M : I'd have expected 'parc à semis', since we are presumably dealing with semi-remorques here. But I'm not sure this is a 'parc' at all — I believe this is the 'yard' where trucks have to manœuvre e.g. to reach the 'quai', etc. So more the sense of 'cour'?

Le semis est le camion entier, je le vois plutôt comme la remorque uniquement...
neutral Patrick Arbaut : Il faut tout de même que le camion tire la remorque jusqu'à l'aire de stationnement, c'est plutôt difficile de manoeuvrer les remorques à la main
