Je traduis un document technique d'un système de mesure dimensionnelle faisant appel à une bibliothèque de communication DLL.
Dans cette phrase "With support for point trail data output, the system is able to output highly accurate point cloud data.", je bloque sur "trail". Je sais que pour "point cloud data", on parle de "données de nuage de points". En revanche, je n'ai rien trouvé concernant "point trail data".
Peut-on parler de "piste" ici (données de pistes de points) ?

: 'piste' in that sense is more 'track' than 'trail', with the sense of following something; in EN, this is subtly different from the sense of 'a trail left behind' soemthing, where the notion of actually following it is diminshed. Cf. aircraft, snails, ...
