Have been out of the running for a while. Regarding evidence of usage: I was not able to find that. In this case, however, I think both the source term and my suggested translation can be considered as generic expressions. Both terms cover the meaning fairly well, in my opinion. In a patent application, that would certainly be quite acceptable. Since patent docs refer to inventions and often describe completely new "thingamajigs", they can even result in new terminology -- which, of course, is not the case here ;-) |
