English to Dutch translations [PRO]
Business/Commerce (general) / verkoperscursus
English term or phrase: Puking
Als in: Puking (Traditional Sales) versus Pain (= de kop, gevolgd door - After you have identified needs and asked if they would do business with you if you were able to help them.)

omverpraten - fast-talking

fast-talking salesman (or: puking salesman, if you wish)

What can we learn from the “Fast talking salesman”?

It’s the stuff of legend: Fending off the fast talking salesman who will tell you benefit after benefit and do their best to trick you into buying something. Maybe you even had an encounter with one recently. Perhaps a “Chugger” on the high street, or a too sharp sales assistant in the mobile phone shop.

Reference information:
Sales puke: it’s a disease that plagues many salespeople and, unfortunately, is so common that many don’t even realize they are suffering from the infliction. Or, perhaps you have been the unlucky recipient of the dreaded sales puke– and as you know, it’s never a good experience!

So what is sales puke?

Sales puke is the excessive sharing of a sales pitch, including a never-ending list of features and benefits, which does not allow the customer to get a word in edgewise.
https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/why-sales-puke-waste-everyone...

Salespeople show up and throw up. They show up and vomit on their prospect! They vomit product knowledge and information.

As to 'pain', this probably refers to a sales approach where customers' pain points serve as the starting point. These pain points need to be identified first before they can be solved.

agree  Barend van Zadelhoff: You may be right. 'persuasion' vs 'listening' It says: does not allow the customer to get a word in / 'sell, sell, sell, don't listen' vs 'listen, then sell'
