It is a verse from a modern american spiritual. I am expected to do an "explain and keep the meaning" job, no poetic or copyrighted work involved.
Any suggestions for ..and all the world go free? The meaning is all the people should bear it as well, not leave it up to him. Next verse says - No, there's a cross for everyone...etc.
