U hrvatskom pomorstvu postoje:
1.lučke kapetanije koje brinu za sigurnost plovidbe, traganje i spašavanje, onečišćenje mora
2.lučka uprave koja reguliraju pomorski promet u određenom području,osiguravaju vezove za ukrcaj/iskrcaj tereta i putnika, održavanje lučke infrastrukture i suprastrukture i sl.
Ne slažem se s izrazom lučke vlasti jer je mnogo širi pojam koji uključuje i pomorsku policiju te carinu.
