Не съм сигурен за точния термин, но може да става въпрос за материала, който съдържа биометричната информация. В новите български паспорти чипът не е на отделна страница, както в паспортите издавани от други държави, а е вграден в една от кориците.

Ако го схващам правилно, по-скоро е някакъв вътрешен армиращ слой ("арматура"?) на материала на корицата, който прави проблеми (не е съвсем ясно какви) при голд печата върху корицата. Понеже технологията е нова, може би е най-добре да се пита клиентът.
