في الاستعمال العربي لا نقول يعانق الموت أو يرتمي في احضانه ببساطة لأن العناق يعبر عن الحب، ولارتماء في الحضن يدل على الحنان، والقصد هنا طلب الموت للتخلص من المعاناة، فنقول يطلب الموت أو يروم الموت.
