Barend van Zadelhoff Jul 23, 2023:
Anyone, going to enter 'weldment' as an answer?
Barend van Zadelhoff Jul 22, 2023:
I think I would go for 'weldment'.

The following suggests 'weldment' is the technical term and 'welded assembly' is an expression that may be used to describe this technical term:

weldment (plural weldments)

A part created from an assembly of smaller components that are joined by welding.
2010, Mikell P. Groover, Fundamentals of Modern Manufacturing (4th Edition), page 10:
A welded assembly is called a weldment.

What is Weldment?
Weldment is an assembly of component parts that are joined by welding. The term “weldment” is generally used to refer to assemblies that are made up of metal parts. However, the term can also be used to refer to assemblies made up of plastic or other materials that can be joined by welding.

an interesting discussion re the terms: weldment, welding/welded assembly, welding/welded structure, etc.
Barend van Zadelhoff Jul 17, 2023:
@ Jonna Just enter the answer you think fits best (see below)

You suggested 'lassamenstelling', the essential point of departure. ;-)
So, please go ahead.

What is a Weldment?

A weldment is the joining of two different metal pieces into one weldment assembly. In other words, a weldment is what is produced when different pieces of metal are welded together. The design for a finished product is called a weldment profile. A weldment design determines what kind of weldment assembly is produced. It should be designed taking into account what function the metal is needed to perform when it is welded together.
