self-control-worthy? Explanation: I guess it corresponds to the German 'selbstkontrollenwürdig'which means: it's able to controll himself/herself/itself, it doesn't need to be controlled from outside or something like this. I hope it could help a little bit.. |

are compliant with monitoring regulations Explanation: Having read the various parts of the website concerned with the IKB inspections and regulations I think that this would be a suitable translation IKB inspections in the slaughterhouse An independent inspection body verifies whether the slaughterhouses are complying with IKB standards. SGS Agrocontrol and the Dutch research institute TNO will carry out these compliance inspections until 2003. In checking whether a particular establishment meets the IKB requirements, SGS Agrocontrol/TNO rely on the slaughterhouse’s quality manual, in which the system of quality control used in the slaughterhouse is described. The inspection reports are submitted to the independent certification body, currently the Product Boards for Livestock, Meat and Eggs (PVE). However, the intention is that an independent, accredited certification body will take over this task sometime in 2003. If necessary, the certification body can require the slaughterhouses to make improvements. Failure to do so leads to sanctions and possible exclusion from the IKB programme -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 hrs 39 mins (2004-09-16 14:06:59 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- It might be even better as: are compliant with self-monitoring regulations in line with Chris\' comment for which I thank him Reference: http://www.hollandmeat.nl/default.aspx?cid=98 |
