Danish to English Tech/Engineering Electronics / Elect Eng post office franking machines

Feeling that this is short for something, e.g. 'lade'. It appears 4 or 5 times in a table of test messages on these franking machines, and appears twice as 'lad' and a few times as 'la'.
Example sentence: Tjek modtagelseaf aflaest forbrug fra la kontakt 3. (Contacts refer to things that trigger messages to say that something has taken place or to trigger the next event in the chain.
Could anyone tell me whether this could mean 'permitted' (event)? If not, should I perhaps ask my client, or does anyone have an idea what it could stand for? I first misread it as '1:a'!
