拜师的信物

Chinese to English Other Gaming/Video-games/E-sports RPG
Hello,

I'd like to ask the translators, who have been translating or playing (in the free time) Chinese role playing games, what does 信物 mean in the following context:

"...获得他们的认可,并获得拜师的信物".

Is it a kind of gift item which you have to give to the "teacher" to get some lessons from him (to upgrade your skills etc.)?

Thanks in advance!

Apprentice Token (or Sign, Emblem, Badge, Sigil)

It might seem like a small thing, but this item needs to be in capitals, so it would be Apprentice Token, not apprentice token. Items are typically capitalized in games - to make them more visible to sleepy gamers.

If you don't want to use token (as token may already be in use), you can consider: sign, emblem, badge, sigil, etc.

I often work on these projects and regularly see such terms.

[skill name] token

I would think it can be translated as [what ever skill / attribute / etc. the teacher will increase] token.
Or just general "Skill Token".

As suggested.
