Chinese term

有倾向性

Chinese to English Social Sciences Economics
I understand all the words in this clause and in the sentence, but I cannot figure out how the sentence works and what the author is trying to convey. The clause that is causing me grief is "在欧洲市场有倾向性的商品销售", which I have currently translated as "had an inclination to increase the sale of goods in the European market". But the use of 性 would suggest that my translation is wrong.

The context is a journalism-style article about China's economic growth. The full paragraph is provided below for context. The text was originally published for the TW market and was in traditional Chinese characters but I have converted it to simplified (because that's what I typically work with).

manipulation

Use "manipulation" or a word/a phrase with similar meaning to express "exerting shrewd or devious influence especially for one's own advantage". for example, China's manipulation of selling goods in the European market.
Peer comment(s):

agree Phil Hand : I certainly feel that this is the sense. Perhaps you could use "selective", "targeted", "strategic"?

3 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "I agree with the "shrewd influence" idea and that it means more than just a tendency. I will consider strategic and targeted, thank you for those suggestions."

preferential

In this context, it means that the Chinese business and government will trade with certain preferred parties instead of others based on their strategic alliances.
Peer comment(s):

agree David C P Lo : Basically I agree with everyone else who answered, just that I prefer "preferential" to "manipulation". "Manipulation" sounds like China is trying to influence other countries' marketing as well. "Selective", as suggested by another peer, may also work.

倾销性

Would you please double check the source text? I mean it might be a typo. I read news about 中国商品倾销 (dumping) in Europe, which is widely criticized and it totally makes sense considering the clause following: 压低的汇率和廉价劳动力 - it all relates to cost and price of commodities.

It does not hurt to check the traditional chinese source since mistake could be caused by simplified-traditional conversion. Or, just to make sure, you could even contact the agency or your client to clarify. I do that a lot and my client appreciates it.
Peer comments on this reference comment:

agree Mark MacDermot : This is a smart suggestion. The context leads us to expect a generally recognised characterisation of Chinese action, and this would fit in nicely,
