It's could be an improvised compound word the speaker formed, or perhaps colloqually and informally used.
A combination of 越, meaning 'over, exceed, surpass'
and 种 which as a verb means 'to plant, to seed'

could 越种 be possbily 育种？The latter makes a little more sense. More context is needed. But I am not sure about it. Just a wild guess.

I've also got another section which gives some technical information.
