Please could you let me know the exact meanings of this word?

It seems to fall victim, in dictionaries, to a confusion of two words, laudanum (tincture of opium) and ladanum/labdanum (a sticky brown resin from Cistus ladanifer and Cistus creticus, species of rockrose).

Does it also mean the cistus which yields ladanum/labdanum?

Also, how do you pronounce the word?
