data payloads

Given by Ernst (Nutzdaten / Nutzinformation) and confirmed by oodles of googles, e.g.:

"... This does not produce any ambiguity, because the first three bytes of a WBXML file are reserved for XML, DTD, and charset declarations. The actual WBXML data payload begins with the fourth byte."

or

"With a MTU of 1000 bytes, a frame can carry an IP packet composed of the 20-byte IP header and a payload of up to 980 bytes."

storage content

This is what I found in my first reference:
Bindeglieder in der Form von Wechselpuffern und Zwischenspeichern schließen den Datenübertragungsweg von den genormten Schnittstellen der Datenspeicher zu den Codecs für die Umwandlung und Rückumwandlung der datenreduziert eingespeicherten Nutzinhalte (Wort und Musik).
One idea would have been effective storage. That seemed not as appropriate as storage content, because that's what I found out is what is suggested by the use of the word "Nutzinhalte" which is actually very rarely found, acutally the only other source provided by google has Nutzinhalte in quotation marks.
