leaves room for

"Laisser la place" à quelquechose usually means to leave room for something, so here this would give something like "making contact using a creative format which will have a real impact, and leave room for interactivity to make the advertisers' message more relevant". Needs some polishing, but as a first attempt.....?

Perhaps, but I'm not sure that the 'interactivity' would replace the 'creative format' completely....

gives up its place/yields its place/cedes to

laisser la place = give up your seat (on a bus/train) so here it means that it gives way to something else

a format that yields to interactivity for better transmission of a message

disagree Nicky Over : I'm not sure you'd use 'yield' on its own like this in this sentence - 'yield' would be more what a person would do.
