El término "claimant" es más amplio y puede ser utilizado en otras circunstancias donde ser presenta un reclamo o una demanda (fuera del ámbito jurídico).

The research clients utilise the results of research to achieve development impact.

Beneficiaries are the end-users of research who gain social, economic or environmental advantage from the technology, methodology or knowledge transfer activities of the research clients (or target institution). They may be identified in, for example, the household, the village community or the global community.
