I'm not familiar with the term "Vorzugstisch" but based on your description (table with attachable wooden table boards), here are some more possibilities: expanding table, draw-top table (a center section - leaf - can be inserted in the middle).

I don't know if this is becoming old-fashioned (like me?), but it's the term I grew up with....
