N-Terminal Pro-B-Type Natriuretic Peptide = German?

English to German Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals Life science
Is there a German equivalent for "N-Terminal Pro-B-Type Natriuretic Peptide"? I can not find a German equivalent, my suggestion would be "N-terminales pro-Brain natriuretisches Peptid", but if there is no equivalent it makes no sense. Does anyone know if there exists a translation into German?

I like this solution: From Deutsches Ärzteblatt: "Das (biologisch aktive) B-Typ-Natriuretische Peptid (BNP) und das (inaktive) N-terminale Fragment der Proform (NT-proBNP) werden von Herzmuskelzellen bei hämodynamischer Belastung bzw. erhöhtem Füllungsdruck im linken Ventrikel zu gleichen Teilen vermehrt freigesetzt." https://www.aerzteblatt.de/archiv/179243/GOAe-Ratgeber-Abrec...

N-terminales pro B-Typ natriuretisches Peptid only if you insist on the entire word...

Hi Paulo With Matthias. "NT-proBNP" is the term of choice in German lab reports, an abbreviation though. However, you will hardly find texts/sources writing it out.

Matthias, you should post it as an answer...

NT-pro-BNP Thank you, just trying to find an acceptable form of writing it in German. Other sources suggest: N-terminales pro Brain-Typ natriuretisches Peptid
Use NT-proBNP One can find different attempts to translate this, but I think you suspect correctly that no fixed German equivalent is really in use here. We most often use the abbreviations of the English, original, names of such peptides/biomarkers etc. Of course, the abbreviation can be explained at its first use by stating the full English name, and also a German translation of that name, if desired and depending on the audience. Like "N-terminales pro-Brain natriuretisches Peptid", ""N-terminales pro-B-Typ-Natriuretisches-Peptid", "N-terminaler Rest des proBNP" usw.

z.B. durch myokardiale Dehnung, wird proBNP durch die Einwirkung von Proteasen in das N-terminale proBNP (NT-proBNP) und das biologisch aktive Hormon BNP gespalten.
