Einwurf

German to English Other Food & Drink
One of the components added to tea, along with the leaves etc. Defined as "Hier werden die Stengel oder das Teeholz mitverarbeitet" on the website here:

I'm sure there must be a technical term for this in English, but I'm struggling to find one.

A mix of stem/stalky bits & plant fibres. Perhaps 'stem and fibre extract' sounds more palatable.

No, it just served as a useful point of reference. The text I'm working on is a list of descriptions of different beverages (in Excel, with little context). The actual sentence is:

"braun/schwarzes Blatt mit hellen Blattspitzen und grünem Einwurf"

Perhaps 'stalk and fibre matter' in light of your answer to the discussion question. The German term makes it sound like more of an added bonus for connoisseurs!
