German to English Medical Medical (general) Heart rate variability in patient health report
Die HRV/VNS zeigt einen gewissen Erschöpfungszustand mit einer *Entkopplung* des vegetativen Nervensystems

That's probably the limit of what I can quote from a confidential patient report, unfortunately. I haven't found anything relevant in EN pages online using "decoupling", so what is the usual EN phrasing here?
Proposed translations (English)
1 *dysautonomia / dysregulation*

Discussion

Martin Purdy (asker) Oct 7, 2023:
Elsewhere in the text it says that "das vegetative Nervensystem ist noch regulierbar", so to be absolutely sure, I presume there's no conflict between its being out of sync and still being regulable. Not permanently entkoppelt, in that case.
Martin Purdy (asker) Oct 7, 2023:
Or the v.N. itself getting out of sync?

When the parasympathetic and sympathetic components of the autonomic nervous systems become out of sync, people can experience an autonomic disorder, also called dysautonomia. Dysautonomia is an umbrella term used to describe several different medical conditions that cause a malfunction of the Autonomic Nervous System.

Thanks for this. Early morning here - took me a moment to work out what would be out of sync with what. The heart rate with the v.N., I take it, on a second reading.
