What is the meaning of this term "Heritage! in "Introduction and Heritage", as a section title in the description of a medical entity or disease? This is pahrmaceutical marketing information for medical circles about a disease entity.
Does it mean Introduction and known facts" or Intruction and History"?
THis is for a multilingual project, so I'm not only looking for the German word, but rather to understand how to approach it.
"Hintergrund" may work in German but it does not in many other languages so looking for an alternative....

Noch eine Idee.
Bei der Übersetzung von "Introduction" ist darauf zu achten, ob es um eine Einführung geht oder vielmehr um die Vorstellung der Einrichtung.
Oder "ihr bisheriger Beitrag zu xx yy" (in Anlehnung an deine Beschreibung weiter unten hier im discussion board, @Lirka).
Btw, I never thought we'd be discussing it at all, but Ich lasse mich immer wieder überraschen!
Ich halte den Ausdruck in diesem Kontext ohnehin für abwegig...
Edit: Auch etwas mit " bisherig" wie z. B. der bisherige Weg
