Concordo, acho que é uma cor que não foi misturada com água ou outra coisa para ficar mais clara.

No sentido de refletir a ideia de uma cor sem diluição ou variação, a cor original em sua forma mais concentrada.
Na referência abaixo é usado essa expressão para cores completamente saturadas.
