clear space
I had previously answered "negative space", but I found a better translation for it.
"Clear space is the term for a specific amount of space that a logo must have on all sides, no matter where it is used." -> https://www.labelvalue.com/blog/whats-clear-space-how-should...

Still not 100% sure, but I hope it helps!

: You'd have to rewrite this to avoid saying "the blank area is the blank area" in the first example.

The definition - pace and courtesy of our Portuguese regulars - may be misleading as the 'reserva' is standby and 'clear space' (see the first example setence and second web ref.) surrounding the logo is meant to make such design stand out.
My IP / intellectual property hunch is a 'priority, territorial prerogative' zone.
My IP / intellectual property hunch is a 'priority, territorial prerogative' zone.
Example sentence:
IATE : área de reserva no-transgression zone -> The City logo should always be placed in an area void of other elements. The area of *non-encroachment* should always be placed in an area void of other elements.
A logo needs an appropriate amount of *space* around it in order to visually stand out and function as intended.

Please see the image on the link. I believe it will clarify things.
