Discussion

Barbara L Pavlik (asker) Apr 13, 2023:
Hi Steffen, thanks for weighing in. But later in the doc, it says VB sauber und trocken, so I think Varband is a pretty safe bet in this case.
Steffen Walter Apr 13, 2023:
Could also be ... ... "Verlaufsbefund" given the "Verlaufsdokumentation" context.
Klaus Conrad Apr 13, 2023:
Ich würde auf Verband tippen.
Barbara L Pavlik (asker) Apr 13, 2023:
Sorry, I meant Verband!
Barbara L Pavlik (asker) Apr 13, 2023:
Oops, just figured it out... Verbund.

Vital Signs

In the context of a ward chart's "Verlaufsdokumentation" (progress documentation) in a hospital, the phrase "VB in Ordnung; Entlassung evtl. heute" would translate to "VS (Vital Signs) normal; possible discharge today" in English. It indicates that the patient's vital signs, such as pulse, blood pressure, temperature, etc., are within normal range, and there is a possibility that the patient may be discharged from the hospital today. This could be a note made by a healthcare professional documenting the patient's condition and the potential plan for discharge.
Example sentence:

"Die Krankenschwester dokumentierte die VB des Patienten: Puls 90/min, Blutdruck 130/80 mmHg und Temperatur 37,2°C."

"Nach der Operation wurden die VB regelmäßig überwacht, um sicherzustellen, dass der Patient stabil ist."

Peer comment(s):

disagree Steffen Walter : Barbara wrote in the discussion box above that she had found the solution ("Verband") herself elsewhere in the text. Also, how would "VB" equate to "Vitalzeichen" (where is the B?)?
