English term

good

English to Spanish Law/Patents Law (general) Certificate of Registration (USA)
OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF STATE
OF THE STATE OF ....
CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION

I, Jhon Doe, as the Secretary of State of the State of .... hereby certify that, according to the records of this office.

ABC, Inc.

is a Charitable organization registered to solicit contributions in (name of the state) as required by the (name of the state) Charitable Solicitation Act....

This organization has been assigned a registration number of 123456789

The status of its registration is **GOOD**, and this status has been in effect since (date).

Por contexto, se me ocurre traducirlo como "Favorable"; aunque considero que debe haber una mejor traducción que la mía.

Discussion

Jennifer Levey Feb 19, 2023:
@All favorable might well be used to refer to a decision about an application to register a charity. But the ST refers to the actual registration, not the prior approval process.

Me parece que tu opción, 'favorable', es totalmente adecuado

vigente

The best choice of words depends to some extent on what other words might be used in English, for registrations that are not 'good' (application pending, approved, good, expired, etc.)
Many Spanish-language bureaucracies use a list of 'status' options in which 'good' might well correspond to vigente.

Since the post comments on a legal document being "good," it would suggest that this document was reviewed and essentially verified by the courts to be true
Peer comment(s):

neutral Jennifer Levey : 'good' refers to the status of the registration (as a charitable organization'), as determined by the certifying officer, not to the status of any 'legal document'. And there's no mention of any 'court' in the ST extract.

We do not have an "active" status for corporations. Fictitious names do not have good standing status but are in effect unless canceled."
