I should have mentioned off the bat that the first clues were in the title of my question - " Tender for a permanent exhibition space for a museum". Also, if a moderator could perhaps improve on my classification of the question... I would be grateful.

Thank you for all your contributions. Sorry I was AWOL on the weekend and did not respond. The first document has been submitted with various suggestions to the client. At the moment I am inclined to go with something like "museum education and display communication concept ("the display")" but I will have to see what also works across all the documents that I have to submit on this job. It was really rushed, in particular the first document that the client wanted straight away, and Murphy's law that it threw me such a sticky German toffee of a word! I appreciate all the insightful input.

... ways of getting museum visitors interested in exhibits, then I like Lancashireman's "engaged"/"engagement". Otherwise I'd use Steffen's "educational" - although German museums generally differentiate between "Bildung" und "Vermittlung".

Da geht's um die Art der Präsentation, d.h. der Auftraggeber möchte ein Konzept sehen, das beschreibt, wie die Ausstellung präsentiert werden soll. So verstehe ich das.
