Don't let the name fool you. Milwaukee Beer Week is way more than a weeklong beer bash. It's a celebration of the craft beer industry, which has grown over the past few years as the palate for the foamy beverage has become more refined. In fact, according to figures compiled by the industry, craft brewing sales are up about 12% for the first half of 2010; general beer sales, on the other hand, are down 2.7% overall.

Running Sunday through Sept. 18, Beer Week ends on a bang with the Great Lake Brew Fest in Racine.

A highlight of the Milwaukee events is the Taste of Great Brewers, from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Harley-Davidson Museum, 400 W. Canal St.
