For an example, if Material A is to be procured in lots of 150, a lot price of 50$ is to be maintained in the PIR, at the same time if the user decides to procure material A in units then a cost of 0.5$ is to be charged per unit of material A.

If the user orders for 154 items in total in a purchase order, the lot pricing is to be applicable for the 150 items and unit pricing is to be applicable for remaining 4 items.

As a Purchasing Engineer in an Oil & Gas company and having prepared many contracts so far, I can say that we usually use penalty clauses of 0.1% of the total contract amount for delayed and not arriving on time shipments. To understand the context, we should look at the meaning of Lot price in the example below.
