皮质骨的不连续意思是骨头的某一侧裂开，但是没有贯穿，也就是没有完全折断，是incomplete fracture的表现，骨皮质是骨质中的致密的部分（片子上的白色部分），其下的骨小梁虽然也是骨质的组成部分，但是它们很疏松，是透射线的，片子上为黑色。只要皮质骨不连续，骨折的诊断建立起来了，就知道发生了不完全骨折。所以，原文的“骨质不连续”，实际上就是指骨皮质的不连续。

: 可能技术上是这样，但这只是翻译，没必要帮原文完善这么多技术细节。原文的表述并没有问题，况且如果原文就是想避免人们不太熟悉的术语或者就是指包括骨髓质在内的整体骨质，那岂不是弄巧成拙了。

在影像学表现上，只有骨皮质是连续的，骨质的其他部分谈不上连续不连续。因此，所谓的不连续只能发生在骨皮质上。

标准定义都是A fracture is a discontinuity in a bone。discontinuity前面有a，说明这里是个具体名词；后面还有介词结构in a bone做限定，那当然就是bone的discontinuity。英语的修饰成分不一定通过of体现，任何介词都可以。汉语的修饰关系一般通过万能的“的”体现，很多时候“的”还可以省略，只要是中心词前面的，都可构成修饰关系，但转换到英文会有of, in, on, from, for等多种可能。
