French term

ASH

French to English Science Medical: Pharmaceuticals thermal characterisation of drugs
I am translating an article on thermal characterisation of pharma products before lyophilisation ie seeing how properties change at different temperatures.
The term ASH appears in a table in various test formulations eg *NaCl (0.9%) + ASH (0.5%)*. I am not clear whether ASH refers to 'cendres' or is a French abbreviation of a chemical. However I have had no luck finding such an abbreviation.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks Althea! I think your suggestion is right but have to wait 24 hrs before selecting it.
Sue Davis (asker) May 27, 2022:
Hi Anne I did think ASH as in cendres was unlikely! But for obvious reasons my searches were turning up all sorts of unrelated information. I am pretty sure human serum albumin is right.
Alison MacG May 27, 2022:
Agree with Althea - HSA You should post an answer, Althea.

What else is there in the formulations? Many ashes would not dissolve in isotonic saline.

ASH

It seems to refer to the H+/As ratio
Example sentence:

où se produisent deux réactions concurrentes produisant respectivement de l'arsine et de l'hydrogène gazeux, et une anode (3), où se produit une réaction source d'ions H+, caractérisé en ce que le rapport des concentrations H+/As à la cathode (7)

ions, where two concurrent reactions take place respectively producing gaseous arsine and hydrogen, and an anode (3), where a reaction takes place which is a source of H+ ions, characterized in that the ratio of the H+/As concentrations at the cathode (7

cendres

I think it's 'cendres (ash)':
Halite (NaCl) is major soluble Cl− in coarser bottom ash particles (0.125–4 mm) - https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S004565351...
The white ash was dissolved in 5 ml of HCI 6 M and dried on the hot plate. - https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/fsn3.2216
3.2.Ash content - https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1755-1315/667/1/0...
Pay attention to the phrase 'ash content:'
Chemical treatment (L) (L1: NaHCO3 6%; L2: CH3COOH 20%; L3:
NaCl 10%) also showed a very significant effect (P≤0.01) on the percentage of ash content produced in
kimpul tuber flour. - the samee link
