French term

tiroir optique

French to English Tech/Engineering Telecom(munications) Fibre optical lines installation
This is the piece of equipment where a line terminates, its output basically goes to patching. It is a 19" rack-mounting unit, the cables come in at the rear and it normally has patching connectors on the front.
I have found 'optical tray' used quite a bit in EN; but I did fleetingly come across another term that seemed more technical, but sadly lost it again. I'm pretty sure the very literal 'optical drawer' is NOT right — I've only come across it in dubiously-translated FR sites!
Please can anyone remind me what the proper term is, and/or point me to any helpful terminological sources in this field?
Thanks!

@Chris The link works fine, it's just the closing bracket from your explanation that is included in the url :)

Thanks, Tony, though the direct link below seems not to work from within ProZ. Nevertheless a "Drawer type optical terminal box", complete with picture, can still be found on the (Chinese) Brellettelecom website.

Thanks to all contributors! Especially to Chris below, whose answer I ended up using, and was validated by the customer.

"Tiroir" seems to imply that it can be pulled in and out, though "optical terminal box" (but see http://brellettelecom.com/en/Products/Cable_Terminal_Equipme... might be as good a translation as any.

Additional information Sorry, I should have said 'EN-GB' — you may have noticed I spelt it 'fibre'!
I have also come across 'patch panel', which is looking like a good contender; they can be used for other purposes, but in my doc it looks like they are only being used for patching.

I am pretty sure I came across Optical fiber rack, Tony.

Note from asker:
Thanks for your contribution Peter! Though 'slot' might work in an IT context, it is not appropriate here where we are talking about 19" rack-mounting devices.

Note from asker:
Thanks, Manu! Although that is fortuitously often the case, it doesn't really work in all situations, and in my document, we find that "...this optical drawer may also sometimes be implemented as a patch panel' clearly requiring some distinction to be made.
