German to English
Law/Patents
Law (general)
UK English
These are instructions on a summons to appear in court and describe what will happen if the person does not appear but is represented by a defence lawyer.
Would love some help on how to translate
"auf die Verwertung ahndungsverschärfender Umstände"

aggravating circumstances leading to a harsher penalty
It suffices if the defense counsel is given any necessary indications of the use of aggravating circumstances leading to a harsher penalty
Aggravating Circumstances | Wex | US Law

Typically, the presence of an aggravating circumstance will lead to a harsher penalty for a convicted criminal. Some generally recognized aggravating circumstances include heinousness of the crime, lack of remorse, and prior conviction of another crime.

aggravating factor(s)
"It will suffice to inform the defense counsel of any changes in legal exposure or the application of aggravating factors."
You don't have to reiterate that aggravating factors lead to harsher penalties as that's already implied. See below:
"Aggravating Factor
Any fact or circumstance that increases the severity or culpability of a criminal act. Aggravating factors include recidivism, lack of remorse, amount of harm to the victim, or committing the crime in front of a child, among many others. The recognition of particular aggravating factors varies by jurisdiction."
