German term

Fr

German to English Medical Medical: Health Care
"Haut (lokal begrenzt), Fr"

This appears in a table that gives a list of medications and dosages for various medications for a cancer patient. Even the proofreaders can't figure this one out, so if anyone has any insights, I'd be very grateful. Thanks!

Discussion

Scott Hendry Jackson Feb 5, 2022:
"frei" can be translated as "unobstructed", which might make sense in the context of application to the skin. However, since Fr is capitalized it would seem to refer to a noun. Just an idea.

philgoddard Feb 4, 2022:
Granisetron is an antiemetic.
Barbara L Pavlik (asker) Feb 4, 2022:
I should also add that the "Form" is a "Pflast."
Barbara L Pavlik (asker) Feb 4, 2022:
Hi Phil, in the table, it appears under the heading of Hinweise (which isn't particularly helpful). The other entries in that row are the name of the medicine (Granisetron), the strength, form and unit. Unfortunately, there is no entry under the heading of "Grund" which might have been more helpful.
philgoddard Feb 4, 2022:
Where does it appear in the table? Is it a heading, or part of a column or row? Can you post it here - anonymized, obviously?

"Das Pflaster kann je nach Dauer der Chemotherapie bis zu 7 Tage getragen werden."

Is there any chance the patient in question had the patch put on on a Friday?
Note from asker:
Bingo! That was it. I'd considered that earlier but couldn't think of a way to verify it. Great detective work. It was indeed first applied on a Friday. I'm going to publish this just as an example of good thinking!
Peer comment(s):

agree Anne Schulz : My thought as well (and it makes sense, if the patch is given before scheduled chemotherapy)
