Laut Kučeras Wörterbuch der exakten Naturwissenschaften ist ein well-head ein "Bohrlochkopf m (technische Einrichtung an der Oberfläche einer Fördersonde, die Überwachungsorgane und Absperrvorrichtungen für Steigrohr und Ringraum enthält)". Demnach müsste ein well head tower eine Turmvorrichtung sein, die über einen Bohlochkopf verfügt.
