water tapping

English to Croatian Tech/Engineering Engineering: Industrial kotlovi
Calibration can also take place in summer mode without water tapping if proper conditions are met.
The pre-heat function is a self-learning algorithm according to which the boiler will heat up the domestic hot water, before the tapping demand.

Discussion

Daryo May 7, 2021:
What is it that needs to be "calibrated"? Some kind of control unit?

You would expect that you need a running boiler to do a calibration of some control unit.

If this boiler is meant to be switched off during the summer, then "without water tapping" meaning "not turning off the taps" could make sense, if this calibration is done in summer time.

But the kind of "tapping" mentioned in http://metropits.com.au/hydraulic-engineering-water-tapping-... is unlikely to be of any relevance for this ST.

What kind of boiler is this? Is the text part of the general purpose "instruction manual" that goes with the boiler or are these instructions specific to a particular boiler installed at a specific site?

These "details" can make quite a difference.

Scratch all that - once you get hold of the whole "operation manual" for this boiler it's self-explanatory in the next sentence ...

zatvaranje/prekid protoka vode

When you do wet tapping, you place a tapping fitting on the water main in addition to a valve to control the water at that line. Once the fitting and valve are in place, the main is tapped. Once the drill is pulled back, the valve is closed, keeping water from leaking out of the main.

disagree Daryo : interpreting it as "cutting the water supply" maybe makes sense (or not, not enough context) but for sure you misinterpreted your own reference, which could be or not relevant to this text // anyway how would make sense combined with "the tapping demand"?

3.2.3 About the electronic gas adaptive system calibration

The electronic gas adaptive system calibrates itself in predetermined intervals. First calibration takes place just after first burner activation after each power ON. Calibration process duration is around 60 seconds and the icon blinks. After calibration is ended, boiler modulates to required capacity. Calibration process has no effect on boiler operation.

Calibration can also take place in summer mode without water tapping if proper conditions are met. In other words, boiler may operate itself for a short duration in summer mode even though there is no domestic hot water demand. This is an expected behavior.

so
"in summer mode" - no need for hot water for central heating
+
"without water tapping" - no need for hot water for domestic use as "the tap" for hot water in the kitchen (or elsewhere) is not turned on.
