"Attorney of record" vuol dire che l'avvocato è quello per l'appunto assegnato a una parte o nominato dalla stessa affinché l'assista nel processo, ma questo significato è già implicito nell'espressione "difensore di".

Especially in United States' usage, an attorney of record is any lawyer or barrister recognized by a court as representing (and therefore responsible to) a party to legal proceedings before it.
