Nietzsche
This is from a text on the philosopher Nietzsche who made a comment about a book in a Nachlassnotiz.
Nachlass means estate, but in this case I'm not sure how to translate it.
In einer Nachlassnotiz vom Herbst 1881 schreibt Nietzsche ueber das Buch:
Thank you for any suggestions!

: Given the information from Johanna below, I'd be tempted to say something like "In a comment found in a notebook (Notizheft) from the fall of 1881, Nietzsche wrote ..." But if the Notizheft were written between 1888-89 then I'm not sure how 1881 fits in..

The Nachlass is a work of its own, a compilation of his unpublished works.

A note from the legacy...
As Ramey and Johanna noted, it seems that it is a specific note that Nietsche made in the Fall of 1881... as an example, see this link about Shopenhauer's notes from his legacy:

: the commentary is from 1881, found in the Nachlass. So, wouldn't specify notebook, but retain Nachlass, a title which was rarely translated (or maybe r//The Nachlass, in most of the links I found, wasn't translated. The title, I mean, the works were.

"The Will to Power (German: Der Wille zur Macht) is a book of notes drawn from the literary remains (or Nachlass) of the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche by his sister Elisabeth Förster-Nietzsche and Peter Gast (Heinrich Köselitz). The title derived from a work that Nietzsche himself had considered writing. The work was first translated into English by Anthony M. Ludovici in 1910, and it has since seen several other translations and publications."
